John Rozehnal graduated from Icahn School of Medicine with both an MD and an MS in Clinical Research. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai, as well as a fellowship in Administration and Operations. Dr. Rosehnal  is taking a leadership role in developing a partnership between Mount Sinai and the Indian Health Services by working clinically and in operations at the Cheyenne River Health Center in Eagle Butte, South Dakota.

Dawn Sable, COT

Dawn joined the Grady Eye Center in 2016 as part of a transformational leadership team, coming over from the Emory Eye Center at Emory University. There she served as an ophthalmic technician and building safety coordinator. The transformational team was tasked to transition the clinic through organizational change, and bring it into compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and other guidelines.

She has been recognized by hospital senior leadership for her contributions to the clinic for improving workflow and increasing patient satisfaction. Additionally, for her part in revamping and remodeling systems, policies and procedures; and for her role in organizing COVID-19 response teams and workflow.

Dawn was also recognized for initiating “telephone visits” during the initial surge of COVID-19. Allowing 15K patients to receive continuity of care. She went on to establish Grady as the first hospital ophthalmology service to utilize telehealth, telephone and other virtual visits during the pandemic.

Dawn graduated from Colorado Technical University with a Bachelors of Science in Healthcare Management. She is a member of the Medical Group Management Association, the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management, the American Academy of Ophthalmology for Executives and ATPO.

In her role, she regularly collaborates with the Chief of Ophthalmology and Senior Grady Leadership to assess, design and implement policies and procedures for patient intake and work-ups. The policies she has developed have significantly amplified workflow and improved the quality of patient care in the clinic. She has enacted innovative training initiatives and continuing education programs for technicians. Additionally, she implemented a protocol for screening and response for rheumatology and diabetic retinopathy patients..

She heads the activities of the clinic for a $1.5M rolling clinic renovation project, which has maintained top-box scores for CGCAHPS and achieved 100 HIPAA score on several walkthroughs, with best practices recognition.

She is currently an instrumental member of the strategic planning, design and development team of the new Ophthalmology space at the Correll Pavilion at Grady.

Cherolyn Fischer, M.A. LPN

Cherolyn Fischer, MA, is a mental health provider, experienced educator, and seasoned program manager. She develops hands-on youth and intergenerational programming focused on traditional ecological knowledge and reconnection to cultural practices. Cherolyn has worked in community-based and culturally responsive education for over two decades, working in collaboration with families, community leaders, and a coalition of schools serving culturally specific communities (Black, Indigenous, Hmong, Latinx) across the state of Minnesota. Her experience developing and implementing culturally centered programming includes a successful Latinx youth social entrepreneurship focused on traditional foodways and health education. A lifelong social and climate justice activist, Cherolyn has extensive experience organizing and managing projects intertwining arts, cultural teachings, and popular education. She is dedicated to building bridges between communities and advocating for cultural preservation and tribal sovereignty. Cherolyn has mixed European and Anishinaabe heritage and strives to model respectful reconnection to community and the Earth.

Suzanne Moran is the Lead Mammographer at the Susan Sheppard McGillicudy Breast Center at Baycare Health Systems | Saint Anthony’s Hospital St. Petersburg, Florida.

Suzanne began her career at the Lac Courte Oreilles Community Health Center as a radiology technician after receiving her degree in radiologic technology from Argosy University.

The Lac Courte Oreilles Community Health Center is located on the Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) Reservation in northern Wisconsin. The health center is managed by the Indian Health Service (IHS) and serves the LCO community and tribal members living in surrounding areas.
Suzanne was originally hired to produce high quality images in mammography and lab departments. Over the six years she worked at the health center, she developed strong relationships with nurses and support staff. Through those relationships, she was able to establish better patient communication and produce a more efficient and positive work environment within the health center.

As a tribal member working within an IHS facility, Suzanne experienced first hand the inequity in healthcare her community faces. With the desire to learn, she left the reservation to work as the radiology manager at Minnesota Medical Imaging, a facility in the Twin Cities. There Suzanne’s excellence in team building improved the quality of patient care and workflow in this high volume facility.

Heading for fairer weather, Suzanne moved to Florida In late 2014. She joined Gateway Radiology in Pinellas Park, Florida. A high volume radiology center, with two locations. She quickly excelled not only as a lead technologist, but also in quality and compliance, inspections of specialized equipment and practice reviews.

In 2020, Suzanne joined the Susan Sheppard McGillicudy Breast Center at Baycare Health Systems - Saint Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, as the Lead Mammographer. In her role, not only does she interact with patients; she has continued her responsibilities in communicating with senior leadership on practice reviews, equipment inspection, quality of patient care, compliance and accreditations. Including Federal Drug Administration (FDA) inspections and American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation.

Peter Capossela, Esq.

Peter Capossela is an attorney who’s private practice focuses on federal Indian law, environmental law, and legislation. Prior to opening his practice in 1993, he worked as staff attorney at Nevada Legal Services Indian-Rural Office and for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Peter regularly engages in federal litigation, legislative advocacy in Congress and state legislature, and administrative advocacy in agency rulemakings and appeals. He assists Indian Tribes on land use and water rights, environmental law, self-determination contracts and programs, law and order codes, and economic and community development projects. He provides legal counsel on non-profit formation and management, fundraising, employment law, contract and project administration, and audits.

Joni Tobacco
VICE PRESIDENT | PROGRAMS DIRECTOR

Joni Tobacco is a member of the Oglala Lakota at Pine Ridge. Her career includes over 15 years of experience in environmental and cultural resources management on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, including surface and ground water monitoring, sampling, resource analysis, mapping, and cultural resource surveys and consultations.

She has coordinated Tribal participation in federal environmental reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act and other federal statutes. She previously served as the Director of Water Resources for the Oglala, and a board member of the Great Plains Tribal Water Alliance.

Joni regularly advises tribal leadership and others on natural and water resource issues. Most recently Joni testified at the hearings concerning the water applications for the proposed Keystone XL pipeline construction near the Pine Ridge, Rosebud, and Cheyenne River Sioux Reservations in South Dakota. Joni is Vice President of The Association for Tribal Heritage.

She descends from a long line of medicine men and ceremonial chiefs who have held Lakota lands sacred and protected them with their lives. She holds to the belief that the traditional teachings of the Indigenous people can be balanced with western science to offer a holistic approach to healing and research

Rachel Tribble

Rachel Tribble is an advocate for social and economic growth among Native American communities. Rachel’s career has spanned the world of finance and modern Native American culture.  She entered the business world in the mid 1990’s and spearheaded the Tribal Investment Division at Fogel Capital Management Inc., a private and institutional wealth management firm. In her work, she was responsible for the relationships between the company, Native American Tribal Governments, businesses and non-profit organizations.  Additionally, she was a contributing author to the American Indian Report magazine writing on investment and economic and community development specific to Native American governments and communities.

Rachel continues to work passionately in support of programs that will positively grow Native American communities in the areas of environmental and natural resource protection and healthcare.  She is an affiliated member of the Lac Courte Oreilles band of Anishinabe.

Terry Tribble
CO-FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT

Terry Tribble is a member of the Lac Courte Oreilles band of Aniishinabe (Ojibwe). Terry's long-time belief that a way of life that is in balance with nature while positively impacting the modern world is the foundation of The Association for Tribal Heritage. He believes that the Native American people should lead the conversation on environmental protection and Tribal business should be competitive in the global marketplace. Terry has served as a public educator working with Native and Non-Native schools and universities. He assisted in the development of workshops and gatherings that promoted cultural awareness between Native Americans and Non-Native people. Prior to founding The Association for Tribal Heritage, Inc. he served as Chief Liaison Officer and consultant at Fogel Capital Management, Inc. and also served as Vice President of the Native American Finance Officers Association. Terry is a graduate of Haskell Indian Nations University.
