NIBII INITIATIVE
The NIBII INITIATIVE focuses on the protection of tribally held natural resources by supporting tribal natural resource managers in the provision of technology, analytics and training. We assist in adaptation and environmental emergency planning for climate change and the design and deployment of next-generation real-time monitoring sensor networks and analytics. We work to develop and adhere to a plan that is a fusion between the traditional knowledge of the people of the land and modern technology and analytics. We seek to protect and privatize tribal data whenever possible.
To date environmental data is vastly spread out and can be difficult to gather and analyze. Our solutions can assist tribal natural resource managers to quickly upload and authenticate data, identify trends and answer questions concerning the security of local water, air quality, microclimates and soil health. Additionally, they are able to gather and deliver much needed data for understanding and substantiating climate change, and help their communities and those surrounding tribal lands understand the impact.
Why is this important on a global scale? Water migrates throughout the continent and air currents travel; what happens in one area can affect us all.
